Nonwovens Around The Clock

#NonwovensAroundTheClock - Meet John and Maria, a busy working couple. Whether it be during their morning routine, at work, or at home, the couple is constantly benefiting from nonwovens without even knowing it. That’s because nonwovens are usually hiding in plain sight, working as the unsung heroes of comfort and convenience.

Watch the animation now to learn about the everyday benefits of nonwovens!

Nonwovens in the Morning

It’s 5:00 am and the baby is crying.

One sniff of the diaper and there’s no question what the problem is.

Lucky for John, nonwovens make today’s baby diapers lighter, more compact, more absorbent and easier to use than ever.

Maria puts on her shoes to go for a run. Without the flexibility and strength of nonwovens, the insoles that our feet take for granted wouldn’t exist.

Back from her run, Maria checks her garden and sees she remembered to put a protective cover over them - a cover made from nonwovens.

Thirsty from her run, Maria gets a glass of ice-cold water that is kept clean and safe by a nonwovens filter.

While the kitchen hood is extracting the fumes from the cooking eggs, Maria is thinking that she could quickly vacuum clean the kitchen, both the hood and the vacuum contain nonwovens filters.

Nonwovens at work

Nonwovens also accompany Maria on her way to work, over 40 parts of the car contain nonwovens, and nonwovens are also used to stabilize roads and other constructions.

Because of the need for strength, for resistance to punctures, abrasions and flames, Maria’s protective clothing contains layers of nonwovens in critical places.

The fire has left Maria hot and sweaty. Good news! The station is cool thanks to an air conditioning unit that uses nonwovens in its filtration system.

Nonwovens at home

The roofers working on John and Maria’s house use nonwovens as they are a necessity in today’s roof construction, to make it waterproof, strong and to allow ventilation to avoid moisture.

Due to the pandemic, John wears a mask at the grocery store. This mask uses nonwovens to provide a microbial barrier function that reduces the spreading of viruses and bacteria. Being a surgeon, John is used to such protective clothing, the majority of medical gowns and drapes feature nonwovens.

John picks up a steak and some fish, both of which enjoy a longer shelf life thanks to their absorbent nonwovens food pads.
